Young Dylan Glover couldn’t wait to let us know of his PB Bass he caught while fishing with Dad at Lake St Clair last weekend.
Dylan said the fish were going off and he caught this cracker on a Jackall Chubby Brown Crow, just casting it up close to the edge and bringing it back to the boat with a slow retrieve and lots of pauses.
The gear he was using was a Zion rod paired with a Diawa Advantage reel spooled with 7lb line. The Bass went 46cm and weighed in around 1.9kg.
Dylan fishes with Team Fuji Singleton during the Bassin rounds. Great to see him out there honing his skills and smoking his Dad.
Great Bass.

NSW Bassin’s very own Matt Anderson secured second place in the Pro Division at last weekends ABT event at Boondooma Dam in Queensland.
Matty led the field going into the last day by 900 grams over his good mate Carl Jocumsen, but couldn’t continue his good form through, not landing a legal size bass in the last session. But that was the way Boondooma was fishing .The fish were there but the bite got tougher as the event went on, with the fish shutting down due to the large field of anglers and the fishing pressure on those schooled up fish took its toll.
‘‘Hopping a Mask Vibe soft jackal for bottom holding fish and slow rolling TT blades through suspended fish seemed to be the answer. The larger bass can’t seem to resist chewing on a well presented softy’’ Matt said. He finished with a total limit of 3 fish for 4.3kg. Matt is only new to the bass tournament scene but seems to be making all the right moves
The event was eventually won by long time ABT bass competitor and all round nice guy, Mike Creighton, with a total limit of 4 fish for 4.83kg. Mike has been fishing ABT events since their inception 10 years ago and finally cracked it for a win.

Carl has decided to head south from Toowoomba to compete in our R3 event at Lake St Clair next month the 9-10th May.
As a lot of you guys are aware Carl is ranked as Australia’s No1 bass angler. Last year Carl won both the ABT Angler of the year and also the 2008 ABT Grand Final, the first guy to do both in the one year. By winning the 2008 Grand Final he has earn’t himself a place back into next years Australian Fishing Championships. He also has numerous AFC and ABT wins to his credit along with many appearances as a TV presenter on many fishing programs.
Carl will be fishing the event with Bassin and ABT regular Matt “ The Captain “ Anderson in his new Fish ‘N’ Bits Skeeter, doing a presentation at Friday nights briefing and generally will be there to say hello and help you out during the tournament with any questions you have. So don’t be shy come up and say G’Day. But keep your daughters away; he thinks he is pretty good with the girls. But in saying that though why is he still single????

1. Occupation – Truck Driver / Lake Glenbawn’s No 1 Hamburger Chef
2. Favouite fishing location – Lake Glenbawn of course.
3. Preferred equipment – What ever Sandra lets me buy through the shop. Usually just cheap stuff that won’t sell.
4. Favourite lure – Brown Dog Silent Jackall
5. Best tournament result – Finished in first place with Billy Pumpa in Bassin’s R7 2008. Billy and I silenced a lot of people that day.
6. What type of boat do you have: A Quintrex Freedom Sport. A bit embarrassing I know, but Sandra won’t let me get anything else. Would love a Skeeter one day.
7. What advise can you give to aspiring tournament anglers. When the fishing is a bit slow the best thing you can do is lay down on the back deck and sleep or relax until they come on the chew again.
8. Best day’s fishing. Probably the last session, round 7 2008 when we clinched our victory. Billy who I was fishing with was too busy trying to keep other anglers away from our spot at the island and I caught all the fish for the session. What a great feeling that was.
9. Most embarrassing moment: When I sunk our new car off the boat ramp while launching the boat. The handbrake gave way I think.
10. Most influential angler – Probably Harry Watson or Bruce Anderson
